Step aboard Celerity and leave the sailing to us, or feel free to take the wheel. Rick holds a USCG Master license and has sailed the Chesapeake and the Atlantic for more than thirty years. Annette is the able crew and looks after everyone aboard.

You'll sail the Severn River and the Chesapeake Bay, with historic downtown Annapolis and the Naval Academy off the bow and — wind and conditions permitting — landmarks like the Bay Bridge and Thomas Point Light along the way. Whether you want a quiet morning under sail, a lively afternoon with friends, or a sunset to remember, you'll have the boat and the bay to yourselves.

Rates

Private 2.5-hour charter

$750 for two guests, then $50 for each additional guest — up to six aboard. Children count as guests; those five and under sail free.

We sail seven days and evenings a week, April through the end of October. When conditions are right, we're one of the only charters that will fly our large, colorful spinnaker.

Our Story

Your hosts, and the boat that carries you.

Rick & Annette

Rick and Annette are lifelong sailors who live in historic Annapolis. Rick is a licensed USCG Master with over thirty years cruising the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic, recently retired as an electrical engineer and division VP of a local satellite communications firm.

Annette is a retired teacher and serves as able crew, looking after everyone aboard. With three grown children through college and out of the house, they look forward to hosting you for your sailing adventure aboard S/V Celerity.

Good to Know

Everything before you step aboard.

Food & drink

Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are provided. We can't serve alcohol, but you're welcome to bring your own adult beverages.

Bring any meal you like — we have plates, glasses and serving utensils aboard, plus a refrigerator, freezer and microwave. Catering is available on request through Main & Market.

Weather & cancellations

Sailing is an outdoor sport. We sail in most safe and reasonable conditions regardless of the forecast, and if it's right, we'll fly the spinnaker.

Cancellations can be made with 24 or more hours' notice. If the captain judges conditions unsafe, we'll reschedule at no cost.

Payment

Payment is due at the completion of your cruise. We accept credit cards, Venmo and cash.

Tips are optional but always appreciated.

Before you board

Because of the inherent risks of any outdoor adventure, every guest signs a liability release before boarding.

Plenty of marina parking, ten minutes from downtown Annapolis — drive or take a ride share. Restrooms are available at the marina and aboard the boat.

Cruises are private and fully crewed — only your group joins the captain and one to two crew aboard S/V Celerity.
